Current Version:
0.5.3-xsdg0.1.12.7

Thanks to Damien Danneels and Jarret Raim for generously donating their webspace and bandwidth.
Bugfixes against the 0.5.3 Syllable release:
- stty is included, so that accepting input without pressing <enter> works again (and various other bits that depended on stty being present)
- "Unknown" partitions show up in the installable partitions list
- reflowed welcome.txt so that it doesn't wrap in the middle of "through"
- The correct version (0.5.3) is now used in the auto-generated GRUB menu.lst file
New Features in 0.1.12.7 (compared to base 0.5.3 installer):
Current Features as of 0.5.3 Syllable release:
- Autogeneration of GRUB menu.lst from detected partition configuration
- Using Arno's new ATA driver
- The script always fires up a shell if some error occurs; error messages are always visible
- Doesn't require pressing "enter" at single-character prompts
- Displays a list of valid install partitions, along with filesystem info (from fsprobe)
- Only prompts user to verify overwriting an existing partition if it is unrecognized by fsprobe
- Synchronizes filesystem immediately after unpacking installation (before any other message is printed whatsoever). This should cut down on corrupted installs.
Short-term Goals:
- Needs to print coherent warnings for all abnormal situations
- Needs to suggest to the user how all error situations might be resolved, or where to look for help
- Needs to allow user to return to previous steps in the installation
- All options need to have reasonable defaults
- Needs to have a more consistent feel
- The image should contain network iface drivers and the dhcpcd
- There should be another version of the image that has Syllable applications already installed and stuff (aka a Live CD)
- Users should be able to do preliminary configuration somehow
- other stuff I forgot
Long-term Goals:
- Bring back the second terminal in a manner that will make sure it doesn't overlap the install terminal
- Needs to implement a "help" option for each prompt in the installation
- "One click install" (will depend on "sensible" defaults being foolproof)
- "One click install (but you choose the partition)" 8)
Casualties:
- 1 Memorex CD/RW (developing radial cracks at the hub)
